You need

a null modem
set in the properties of the POSE, a palm user name (say) "abc" this should
be a user name known to hotsync manager (organiser software)
HotSync is configured to run on a com port (say) COM 1, have the POSE use
the COM 2 (in POSE properties) , connect the null modem betn these ports &
run the Local Sync from hot sync ..now
