Yes, we certainly heard the suggestions.  But it is way too late to have
this change in 3.5, so don't hold your breath.  The way the currently
posted rom works is the way it is going to be.

I have no idea why the list/icon thing in the launcher prefs dialog was a
popup, for what it's worth.
