No, neither of these are the case (well, the first is an excellent and imporant guideline, and the second is partially true but only by coincidence and the way that the compilers work by default). My message from yesterday should clarify, but in short: the filename on the desktop is irrelevant; the creator id ought to be different to differentiate different apps but it isn't the thing that determines overwriting. It is the database name that matters for overwriting purposes, and your compiler has a setting to specify the database name. -David Fedor Palm Developer Support
