I think my earlier message should have resolved most of your issues with the
NotifyMgr, but...

That's what Bob is pushing for, and I expect that's what we'll end up with
(unless we want every application to be able to use its own creator code as an
event type, in which case I don't think it makes sense to use a separate
registry). But in any case, we certainly don't have one yet, nor do we have a
strict policy laid down regarding the usage of notifymgr event types. Its all
still to be decided...
