I get this too in CW6. Example... If I have some piece of code that causes
the device to read memory position 0 I'll get a message box from the
emulator saying I tried to read from low memory. Once that happens I know
I've got to restart CW and POSE or I will get the "Registry entry for BDWM
is not defined" message. I also get a "Debug helper file missing" message
sometimes.
As long as I don't get any error message boxes from POSE, I can start, kill,
set break points, and compile all day long without any problem. But it kind
of defeats the purpose of a debugger if you have to restart CW whenever a
bug is encountered.
I've tried various action paths after a program bombs to see if I can avoid
having to do a reset of CW and POSE but I have been unsuccessful so far.
I'll try your tip of going to another program like Preferences before I
start a new debugging session. Thanks.
