Interesting. POSE 3.0a3 has definitely not been the most stable
version I've ever used (I'm doing a lot more restarting than I'd
like, definitely cutting into my productivity), but it's working well
enough to develop code. Sounds a bit more positive than your
experience.
I also found that updating to the latest 3.5 SDK helped a bit too.
