David, can you explain the width = 31 part? Is 31 a new requirement or just
a guideline?
In older OS/tools versions, the final icon was always exactly 32 by 32.
Either the icon editor or PalmRez would pad out the edges to that size,
since the icon editor was fixed at 22 by 22. (And the GCC tools only emit
32x32 icons anyway.) But now the Icon Family feature lets you make
arbitrarily sized icons.
In my previous job, my icon was the full 32 pixels wide. (I created it with
PilRC and linked it in with Rez.) Is that still valid or would badness
happen since it's wider than 31?
And since icons can now be any size up to 31 or 32, would it be a better
guideline to say to make the icon the smallest size needed to enclose the
picture? Or does Launcher have to do extra work when drawing an icon that
isn't some "expected" size?
