One more thing that needs to be mentioned here is that you need to give
POSE an IP address. I'd been trying to get network syncing working for
quite a while, with no luck, and all the while irate posts to other who
had tried it saying stuff like "It's in the readme file". Well, the
readme doesn't cover it all.
I've read all the readmes I could find, and there was not much help on the
mailing lists, other than "read the docs". Basically, what everyone was
leaving out is that you need to assign an IP to the Palm before you can
sync over the network.
Here's the key:
1. Go into the "Prefs" app
2. Select the "Network" panel
3. Choose a service, or create a new one if you want.
4. Enter 00 as the phone number
5. Click on "Details"
6. Uncheck the "IP Address # Automatic" checkbox
7. Enter an IP address. You can pretty much use anything as an IP, but I
would recommend using something in the 192.168.x.x range, or 10.x.x.x,
like 192.168.1.35
I may be wrong in saying that this is the only way to get it working, but
I have tried every other way, and it only started working after I assigned
a static IP to poser.
