Since the battery life is more or less dependant upon the
mAh rating of the battery I have a suggestion.

You know when you get a moble phone, you can get an
"extended life" battery which is more bulky, but fits into
the same slot, why doesn't some hardware manufacturer make a
small plastic snap in that would fit onto the standard
battery terminals, but allow the fitting of 2 x AA instead
of AAA size batteries? This would allow approx twice the
battery life, although you would have a"lump" on the back of
your device.

I'm sure it would only cost a few pennies to actually
produce.
