What are you doing to evoke sound from the system? I guess I should state that
Poser tries to follow the path lead by the Mac simulator library, where the
system volume is set to zero by default. This means that you won't hear any
clicking noises when you "tap" the "pen". But other sounds that don't use the
system volume should be heard. I mostly tested with the alarm sound in the
General preference panel.

Are you not setting DebuggerSocketPort and RPCSocketPort to zero? The release
notes describe doing that as the workaround for unwanted PPP dialups.
