I'm guessing a little 16Mhz machine without a maths copro(?) is going to
cope to well even with dropping down to a single channel and skipping three
samples out of four (which would most likely sounds really bad). I guess
this is why some of the CE devices are probable shipping with MP3 in silicon
or at least have 100MHz+ processors to allow them to do it in software.
Oh well I still think the Palm platform rocks... only very quietly... and as
long as you don't mind it only going beep.
