The "six buttons" on the bottom of the Palm has been there a long time and I know very
well that there are no plans at all for
changing the layout scheme. The simplicity of this interface is one of the key
features that has lead to the platform's success.
I suggest you do one of the following things: use the buttons just to the right and
left of the scroll buttons as your left /
right controls for you software. A lot of games to this already. Second, make a
hardware product that connected to the bottom of
the Palm that has such a control. I heard rumblings about something like this in the
make by a third party but it hasn't surfaced
yet.
