pilot-xfer, from the pilot-link package on
http://sourceforge.net/project/?group_id=2158 will do this, and there is
win32 port. Some assembly required, but significantly less than $60K worth,
I'd wager.

Subject: file transfer w/o hotsync

I'm trying to send a database to a palm 5 using a cell
phone, and the hotsync takes forever (minutes). Is
there a way to send a database file to the palm
without Hotsync? The phone is connected to the serial
port, so I think I can use the serial manager.

What I had in mind was having the palm dial and log
into an NT machine. My application on the NT machine
would send the file to the palm. I looked at
Wavesync, made by Waveware, who claims that they can
do database Hotsyncs 2 or 3 times faster using their
software, but it's pretty expensive (~$60,000).

Any suggestions??
