I've heard the same thing said about every mailorder place selling
anything: that they're required to provide a date, even if they're making
it up, and the standard fib is to say "2 weeks".  (But I've no hard
evidence on this, just hearsay.)

We (usually, I presume in this case as well) have some special arrangements
for the developer discount program, to have units set aside for developers.
In general the bulk of the available devices go to normal stores, but
ordinarily we arrange for some to be ready to send out to developers
without a delay.

All that said, I don't have specifics of what might be causing a delay in
this circumstance.  Sending mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] would be the right
thing to do if you've questions about this sort of thing.
