Hi Peter,
I've just been benchmarking the WinScreenLock/Unlock() functions against my
custom screen-copying code (basically some 68000 for copying the whole
screen as fast as possible). I've been using POSE, 'cos we've not got any
IIIc's in the UK yet, but the results were rather disappointing:
Astraware CopyScanlines(): 48.6s for 1000 frames
WinScreenLock(): 48.7s for 1000 frames.
I was doing 'WinScreenLock(winLockDontCare)', so my conclusion has to be
that PalmOS is copying the screen from the temporary area to the real one in
WinScreenUnlock(). Anyone any evidence either way?
Shame that, I was hoping to squeeze a bit more performance out of Zap!2000
colour...
Kind regards,
David
