What is the optimal working environment for using the GNU tools? I recently
downloaded the PRC tools, Cygnus, POSE (w/ ROM), PilRC and also the SDK (v.
3.5). These tools seem difficult to use because gcc sends the error
messages by at the speed of light, and I am not able to redirect them to a
file. This makes it difficult to debug, when the most important error
messages scrolled off of the screen. Also, does anyone here use make? If
so, what editor do you use? Edit.com kills my make files because it
converts tabs to spaces. Are there any other tools you would recommend?
I'd probably be content to just be able to scroll backwards through my error
messages. Also, has anyone found any use for Cygnus other than the make
utility? I haven't figured out the value other than a .dll is required to
run the PRC tools. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bill
