hi!

hi all.. i found an interesting problem with grayscale bitmaps under
os 3.5 in relation to the manner in which they are displayed.

when i display a 1bpp grayscale bitmap on a color device - the white
area is assumed to be transparent. perfect. however, when i display
a 2bpp or 4bpp grayscale bitmap on a color device - the white are
  remains white!

now my question is simple :)

why is the white not assumed transparent in this situation?

i am sure it would not be much of a patch to the OS to actually assume
white is transparent for any NON color bitmaps.

  comments?
