FWIW, Constructor stills seems to be struggling with 555 vs 565. Some
display adapters use 5 bits for R, G, and B in 16 bit mode, some use 6
bits of green. I have absolutely no idea why constructor should care -
it seems it should just edit DIBs and render them to the current Windows
display context, but it does.
The current constructor also seems to get pretty confused by a couple of
our lab machines. We have some odd-ball high end adapters from Europe
and Japan for testing of some DirectX based stuff. In 32 bit mode on
one adapter, constructor seems to have R and G reversed and is stuffing
B in the alpha channel.
At least I can edit bitmaps with this version... <grin>

Subject: Windows Constructor Build 1509
There's still something funky with Build 1509 of Constructor...
System: Windows98SE running a Diamond Fire GL 1000 Pro card with the
latest
drivers (I checked) at 1152 x 864, 16-bit colour.
I've posted a capture at:
http://homepage.interaccess.com/~aball/construct.gif
that shows the Constructor colours and the POSE Palm IIIc colours next
to
it. There's a transposition of the pale grey pixels in the lower right
corner to an oxblood colour on POSE. The grey I'm choosing is in the
7th
row, 2nd position from the right.
Also, and forgive me if this has already been addressed, (I read the
digest
edition) but the icon is still shifted down in the launcher under OS 1.x
and 2.x.
