That's interesting. I just made an icon with that gray, and it came out fine.
Did you do the drawing inside Constructor? Or did you paste in the image
from another drawing app? And you're using the PalmRez plugin that came
with the final 3.5 SDK? I could imagine any of these, if missing, could
result in a colortable mismatch situation in theory.
Perhaps sending me (directly) your resource files and the prc would be
instructive. Vivek is out of town otherwise I presume he'd have made the
same offer/request.

Yes, it seems that if you require 1.0 and 2.0 support then you need to use
a height of 32, though you can still have a width of 22. Bummer.
