What U r actually talking bout is sort of WAP browser.. is it?
Let me tell U what I m doing (or have done) and what V found in this
journey... That may hlp U for getting something..
These r two different things. can work independently... U 've to combine
them.
1. I m working on Wireless Appln for PalmV.
(This facility is provided for PalmVII but is costly n available in US
only. I may b wrong.)
But, V got the success for Wireless appln for PalmV.
for this V r using IR Communication. U've to set it thru Settings of both
Palm (Prefs) and for windoes also.
then V used Mobile Handset (GSM Handset) for further communication. one at
each end, Palm & PC(Srever)
This works very fine....
For this, V used,
* IR Comm bet Palm to Handset (even V can work with PC/Laptop having IR
facility)
* 'AT' commands for GSM handset to PC... (Data transmission.)
* TCP/IP Socket Programming wth Client Server model. (NetSample in
Codewarrier Samples Can Help U for this.)
* IRNetLibrary is quite useful.
2. Now 2nd thing. ( Browser)
see friend, there r quite no of Palm browsers r available. There info
is available on net.
Here r some useful sites...
Websites for Palm Web.....>
avantgo.com, proxyweb.com, isilo.com, handweb.com
a) AvantGo.com : They provides online Hotsync with Ur palm and
downloads the sites to ur palm so that offline u can see them.
b) HandWeb.com : This is very very good Browser... which connects to
Net directly thru Ur net conection/Proxy and allows same kind of browsing
as on PC.. Ya , but it doesnt support Frames in HTML.
c) ProxyWeb : This is also very good browser.. but they needs there
own proxy...
U can look at WebClipping Application also for WML purpose...

Thanks for that, but I think my question was put wrongly at the outset. I
think what I meant to ask was, what is the underlying programming tool
(specifically for the User Agent Layer) that can be used to create a WAP
client(i.e. microbrowser)? I see from Nokia's website that their client's
based on a C implementation. I hope this is not an unfair question in terms
of the scope of this forum, but I'm just interested in learning more about
underlying technology.
