Actually, a simple test shows that this problem (which I reported many
moons ago) has been fixed in OS3.5. So in 3.5, you CAN beam a new version
of an app and have it received without deleting the data.
With earlier versions of the OS, there is also a solution - beam the app
with "BeamBox" which, like OS3.5, will replace the app without deleting
the data.
