First, make sure that HotSync is configured for the right COM port on your
NT.
Second, make sure that some other device isn't connecting to the same COM
port that HotSync is using.
I recently encountered this same problem when I attached an IR adapter and
configured it (in error) to use
the same COM port as HotSync. Since only one app/device can use it at a
time, whichever loads first gets
it.
