Almost anything is possible. There are functions that allow you to install
files on the palm. They're pretty easy too, just look in the documentation
under

PltInstallFile()

As far as translation, you can do whatever you want, as long as you write
the code yourself. If you're using the generic conduit, then under the
PcMgr fuctions RetreiveDB and StoreDB you could do translation...or mabye
under OpenDB/CloseDB...its up to you.

Subject: Writing a conduit to convert files at HotSync time

  Hi all.

  I want to write a conduit that will allow users to drag a file of
one type onto the Install Tool, and have that file converted at
HotSync time, to a different format, which can be used by the Palm
Device.

  For example, my Psion Revo does it with Microsoft Word documents,
which it converts to it's own Word Processor format when you use it's
equivalent of the HotSync program.

  Does anyone know if this is at all possible? I just read almost the
whole CDK Programmer's Companion PDF and it seems that conduits aren't
really designed for this.  :-(
