You can have up to 15 categories to group your data records however you
want. For example, the Datebook app uses these categories: All, Business,
Personal, Quicklist, and Unfiled. It also lets you add your own categories.
This allows the user to see a list of just those database records that match
a particular record. (It is unlikely that name and address are stored in
two different database records, so you would probably not have a category
for "name" and another for "address". But you might want categories like
the ones used in Datebook.)
To implement categories in your own app, you have to write some code to set
up the categories and use them appropriately. See Chapter 6 of Neil Rhodes'
excellent book online at
http://www.palmos.com/dev/tech/docs/devguide/ch06.htm#TopOfPage for info on
setting up the App Info Block (which is where you store the categories),
using the Category Manager, and displaying records that match a given
category.
