Unfortunately I just deleted the incoming and outgoing mail logs yesterday,
so I wasn't able to find an email from you that bounced. However, this is
what the problem has typically been in the past.
>>You may not find any from yesterday because I now go right into creating
a new message with the body of the original pasted in from the clipboard.

Outlook appends an HTML version of your message to the text representation
of your message. Depending on the version of Outlook you are running, it
appends it in two different ways. Lyris detects both of those conditions
and bounces the email.
>> I'm running Outlook 97 on an NT 4.0 machine if that makes any difference.
(I'm sure this is just a configuration problem, but I was unable to find the right
checkbox so far.)

So, you might be asking why we bounce attachments. We do this for two
reasons:

1) Most readers don't want to receive attachments. A lot of people add
vCard and HTML attachments to their messages and readers tend to annoyed
when receiving those attachments.
2) Every message is stored on the server. Attachments take up disk space,
so we don't accept them.

>> That sounds good to me.

>> The thing that is confusing is that it only happens when I try to "Reply" to a
>message.
I know I'm not sending a signature file or one of those vCards. I'll keep digging but
if you
could look into the logs when you get a chance tomorrow, I know you'll find at least
one
or two bounced back to me this afternoon because I'm trying different configs and
replying
to your original message.

Thanks
John
