if you have an upgraded ROM for the palm, you can use the new serial
manager and then you would be able to use the wakeup functions which it
provides. LIke, "Purpose Sets the number of received bytes that triggers a
call to the wakeup handler function." Have a look in Palm OS Reference.
As for the old serial manager, you going to have to leave the connection
open if you going to wait for packets which is a pain.
