I don't think a one-day life is reasonable. For example, if you go on a
three business day trip, you should be able to use your device over the
entire trip duration without needing to carry a charger with you. Even
leaving the charger at the office and just having the device with you over
the weekend shouldn't be something you are concerned about.
I'd say a week of normal use would be on the low end for a battery charge
for a useful device. When I was at Motorola's paging group, we strived to
produce devices that would run for three months on a single AAA. My
PageWriter 2000X two-way pager (another Dragonball device) likes to be
recharged, but I've had it out of its cradle for almost a week now, and its
still at around 60% charge.
