In NT Explorer, choose Options..., then File Types tab. Click New Type...
For Description, enter CodeWarrior Resource. For extension, enter RSRC.
Leave Content Type blank. For Actions, click New... . For Actiom, enter
"Open". For Application Used, use Browse to navige to your version of
Constructor and choose it. Click OK, then OK, then Apply, then OK.

That should install the mapping for RSRC to open up Constructor. You may
want to repeat the process for the extension RSR.

Good luck.

John,

With Constructor 1.2, there were some problems when double-clicking on a
.rsrc file, in that it would cause the IDE to hang. All files on my NT
system had to be opened from File-Open in Constructor. But, if you download
the 3.5 SDK, you get Constructor 1.5 (and Constructor 1.5b7 with Update 1),
which does not have this problem.

I hope this helps.

Subject: constructor question

General question here-

From within the CW IDE, shouldn't I be able to double click on a resource
(.rsrc) file
and it will be opened in Constructor? Perhaps this is a file association
property that
needs to be set up at installation. (I chose NOT to change my file mappings
as I have
a lot of other C source related to other development environments. I
imagine there is
no way to distinguish between two files that are both .C source yet related
to two different
compiler IDEs - like MSVC and CW et. al.)

Thanks
John
