Warning: I am new to CW for the PalmOS, so if the question seems
wacko, it probably is.
I have started a little test project using the "C Stationary" as my
initial skeleton code. In the skeleton, there is a routine named
FormDoCommand. In this routine, if the proper menu item is selected,
the routine AbtShowAbout is called. After getting my self
straightened out with Creator IDs, I can get what I believe to be the
proper dialog to appear when AbtShowAbout is called. That is, a
PalmPilot logo, copyright info, etc. Along with this is displayed my
program's name and underneath this it shows the word "Error" where I
believe a version number is supposed to be displayed. This version
number does not appear to be the version number held in the
application's Project Settings in its resource file. At least that
number is showing up fine if I display the version information under
the Applications list. In trying to research this problem, I find
brief (alas, too brief) documentation of the AbtShowAbout function in
my hardcopy, Part I SDK reference manual for the 3.0 SDK. However, I
can find no mention of the function in my HTML based 3.5 SDK
documentation. My questions:
1) How do I get anything besides "Error" (preferably a version number)
to appear when I call AbtShowAbout?
2) What happened to AbtShowAbout? Am I using the wrong function or
should I be looking elsewhere for its documentation?
I am using:
CW for Palm OS Release 6
POSE 3.0a4, with both the Palm 2.0 and 3.0 Debug ROMs (there were
taken last year)
Win98 SE (if that matters)
Thanks,
Marty Packer
