The book by O'Rielly on Palm Programming talks about some limitations
of the Palm UART that does not allow either the DTR or the RTS
to be set programatically (I dont remember which one).
I wanted to connect a smartcard reader to the palm using the serial port,
and setting one of the lines (DTR/RTS) would turn on the led on the
reader.
So I have given up on the palm and am now looking at TINI from Dallas
Semi as device which would act as a bridge between the palm and the
reader.
