I can definitely see how one could think that the "e" in IIIxe would mean it'd have 
mask ROM, like the IIIe. This has to be the low point in our device naming history :-) 
In fact, the IIIxe is most like a IIIx, but with more RAM and a newer OS installed on 
the flash.
