You'll need software on the PC that can send a file out the IR port using an
IrDA standard protocol. Ideally, it should use IrOBEX. Then the Launcher on
the Palm will receive it automatically, and you don't have to do any coding.
On the other hand, if your PC software uses IrCOMM, then you'll need to
write an app on the Palm to receive the pdb. It's not hard, but the user
experience isn't as good. The user will have to run your app on the Palm
before they can receive from the PC.
Counterpoint Systems Foundry (now called Extended Systems) sells Quickbeam.
I'm pretty sure this will do IrOBEX, so you shouldn't have to write any
code.
