Hmm... This is probably way off topic...sorry about that... but I can't
think of a better place to post it....


I re-installed Windows 2000 onto a different drive on the system.
Consequently I also needed to re-install the Desktop manager/hotSync
manager software for my Palm.  I just downloaded 3.03  from the web site
since I couldn't find my installation CD.

The first time I backed up, it did something terribly wrong.  Instead of
updating the HDD with the latest records it restored the palm to the
state of the HDD.  A really old state too by the looks of it (3 or 4
months ago - but I know my last hot sync on the old OS wasn't more than
a week ago).  

Does anyone know what I did wrong?


The phone book program is the only one I really care about.  Are the
records of the last few _months_ of that program still on the HDD
somewhere?  Or did I just permanently delete them?  How can I avoid this
in the future?



I am using a Palm Vx with Windows 2000 and PalmOS 3.3.
