What logic leads someone to believe that charging $.05 less for a product
make the seller unscrupulous?

Charge what you feel is a good price for software. I don't believe there is
any shame in a price if customers are willing to purchase it (unless you're
forcing them to).

BTW :

wouldn't that be $yy.96 not $yy.00 ?
