One alternative you should consider is using a Handspring Visor with a two way
wireless, Springboard module such as the Glennayre
ActiveLink or the Omnisky modem. There may be an SDK layer that yoy can access so
these devices do not use the serial port calls
and thus you can have those resources directed to the actual serial port.
