Or my app - MIDI output via serial. The serial can resolve higher but
has no counter - you would need the serial port completely to time
things (e.g. by sending a character whose width was 1 millisecond).
(I use 600Hz which is great for SMPTE - 100Hz you can notice rythmic
jitters or aliasing).
The audio is used if there is an alarm or other, so it isn't clean.
