"Access seems to even get confused about Palm, PalmOS, PalmSource, etc. On their page touting their upcoming Linux product they talk about combining Linux with PalmSource - but PalmSource is their 3rd party software sales site, not the PalmOS stuff. Or, maybe I'm confused too..."
It is really confusing, but Access is correct. ACCESS bought PalmSource who was the maker of PalmOS. PalmSource and PalmOne were formerly Palm but were split up to separate the hardware and software development shortly after Handspring (former Palm employees) was bought by Palm. PalmOne has since gone back to the original Palm name. Originally Palm was a hardware/software product created by 3Com. Recently Palm bought the rights to use and develop Garnet (Palm OS 5.X) back from ACCESS. Does not make any sense? There were alot of mergers and name changes. It's no wonder PalmOS has not evolved at all in the last three years. -- For information on using the ACCESS Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.access-company.com/developers/forums/
