There was a Sony Simulator. I still have a copy, but the license doesn't allow me to distribute it, of course.
I posted the Sony Emulator on 1src.com's freeware developer board, including source code. You would need to obtain a ROM from an NR-series device to use it, since Sony no longer distributes the ROMs to developers. But all that said, if you just use the pre-compiled PalmResize, e.g., in shared library format, and follow the instructions you don't have to worry whether the code runs on Sony, Garmin, Tapwave, Palm or Dana--it should work on all of these, and there should be no need to test it on the Sony unless you've got very strict quality controls (and you could always warn Sony users that use of your software on Sony devices is especially at the user's risk). Handera requires slightly more work, but not much. My PalmResize library is used in a sufficient number of popular projects (e.g., Bible+, Plucker and Filez) that you should be safe. http://palmresize.sf.net -- For information on using the ACCESS Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.access-company.com/developers/forums/
