There was a Sony Simulator.  I still have a copy, but the license doesn't allow 
me to distribute it, of course.

I posted the Sony Emulator on 1src.com's freeware developer board, including 
source code.  You would need to obtain a ROM from an NR-series device to use 
it, since Sony no longer distributes the ROMs to developers.

But all that said, if you just use the pre-compiled PalmResize, e.g., in shared 
library format, and follow the instructions you don't have to worry whether the 
code runs on Sony, Garmin, Tapwave, Palm or Dana--it should work on all of 
these, and there should be no need to test it on the Sony unless you've got 
very strict quality controls (and you could always warn Sony users that use of 
your software on Sony devices is especially at the user's risk).  Handera 
requires slightly more work, but not much.

My PalmResize library is used in a sufficient number of popular projects (e.g.,
