Using SD Card Memory

I'm using a sound program called Wave Edit Pro, but it can only edit two 
minutes worth of sound at 44100 mhz. Developer says it's because of lack of 
onboard memory on the Palm Treo. Just not enough juice. 
Question: is it possible to use the SD Card memory to run a program, or is it 
just too slow??
