I want to be able to use an enhanced multi-line FIELD-like widget that can show bold, italics, superscript, different colors, and different font sizes. It is a relatively small subset of what rtf and html can deal with. It needs to be scrollable and with the capability of forcing a certain line to be visible (i.e. make the 50th line of a 200 line chapter be visible).
I realize this question has been asked before, but I wasn't able to find anything that was particularly usable from looking at the archives back to 2003 or so. I did find references to "plucker", but it seems to be GPL, which isn't an option. As far as I could tell, the guidance seems to be to "roll your own" ... to interpret "embedded tags" and change the font attributes for drawing text.
