Yes RescoExplorer can unzip any (or almost any) zip file.
A prc on a webserver can be downloaded by Blazer on the device, or it
can be downloaded on a PC (any browser) and then hotsynced to the device.
Sorry no idea about Opera.
----
If you have a PalmOS device I think the best is to try it.
Just use Blazer to go to this address
http://www.resco-net.com/palm/Explorer/downloads/RescoExplorer.prc
and it should download RescoExplorer to your device.
(it obviously works with any prc file).

If I place the PRC file on a regular server, can they download (connecting
their Palm devices to the Web) using Opera, or just Blazer?
Also, if someone tries to download it to a regular PC, would it work (if
they're using IE, Mozilla, Safari)?
Also (I know this is a lot of questions, so thank you) -- can Resco unpack
and install the same Zip file that I now have ppl download to their PC?
Thanks again!

Hi,
common PalmOS 5 devices (anything better than T5, eg all treos except
Treo600) can download an application (prc) directly from Internet
through the builtin web browser Blazer (Web).
So giving a URL to a prc should work.
Small advertisement:)
All PalmOS 5 devices can use Resco Explorer to download & unpack &
install an application.

Hi,
I took over sales and management of a Palm application, which was written by
a real programmer who passed away. I'm just a beginner, so when I have
needed program updates, I hired a programmer to do the work, and you know
who you are on this list ;-).)
I recently got an order for 30 copies of the software.
The method of loading the program onto the Palm has been to download a
zipfile from the web, running it on windows (which extracts a prc file),
then hot-synching. They say this is unacceptable to them, and I don't blame
them.
Would it work if I copied the prc file onto a CD and send to the customer?
Or if I set up a URL with the PRC file to download DIRECTLY into their Palm
devices? Can anyone see issues with this? I have never loaded this software
in any way other than a hotsynch.
Thanks!
