Here are the steps I take when installing CW to WinXP SP2. BTW I highly
recommend going to 9.3 if at all possible. It is much more stable than
9.0 or 9.2.
1. Install Release 9
2. Select ?Full Installation?
3. Accept defaults for remaining prompts
4. Install update 9.2
5. Install update 9.3
6. Install the Palm SDK. Note that if the SDK installer cannot find
Metrowerks, browse to the location of your install.
7. Copy ?\{root}\(Palm OS Support Old)\Incs\Core\System\charattr.h To
?\{root}\Palm OS Support\Incs\Core\System; where {root} is the name of the
install directory where you installed CW.
8. Open the project: ...\CW for Palm OS Support\Build All.mcp; and build
this project.
This works for me. In addition you can do the following to get USB on
device debugging working. Move (don't copy) the USBPort.dll file from the
System32 folder to the PalmOne Program Files folder.
Hope that helps,
