Fortunately I own I agree. I tried learning from the SAMS book, because someone else here at work bought it, and I borrowed it from him. After fighting through what I found to be a very poorly organized book (the first hello world app relies heavily on later chapters, so you have to muddle through a significant portion of the book before you can compile a single line of usable code), I was able to get started, but I went out and bought the O'Reilly book that weekend. I had a basic grasp of Palm programming by the time I got the O'Reilly book, so I can't say how much better it is for getting started, but the flow seemed better, and it looked like it would be possible to get their hello world app up and running sooner. I also liked the fact that the O'Reilly book was not totally Code Warrior centric, as the SAMS book was.

I do the same, although i gave the SAMS book back, so I look first to O'Reilly, then to the Palm docs, and so far that has been sufficient. -Thomee- -- For information on using the ACCESS Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.access-company.com/developers/forums/
