G.,

There are several reasons that I can see for HotSync rejecting a file:

Reasons that Poser also detects:
--------------------------------
Record/resource too big
Database name too long
AppInfoID or SortInfoID past end of file

Reasons that Poser does NOT detect (maybe it should...):
--------------------------------------------------------
No database name
Creation date == 0
Creator type == 0

Of these, I'd suspect "no database name" or "creator type == 0".

Subject: my pdb loads into emulator, but not into device

Not strictly development related, but I hope you guys can help.

I have a pdb that I can load into the emulator ( version5, palmV, OS
3.5). When I try to load it into my device (PalmV, OS 3.5) using the
Windows Palm Desktop Software ( Instapp ), it fails with the following
error message:

    "Invalid Palm organizer file deleted:
C:\Palm\mydevice\Install\Power.prc"

The app works in the emulator, so I'm ruling out corruption. Does
Instapp check the timestamps ( create, mod, backup ) in the header for
consistency? Does anyone know what criteria the Desktop Software uses
before rejecting a file?

Thanx!
