I wasn't being sarcastic. When I'm sarcastic, you see, I use the "winking
smiley-face". I've noticed this trend, for better or worse, in most
consumer products over the years. I'm not trashing this rumored new
product,
I'm only trying to bring a little levity to the flood of people whining
about
it. It's an obvious move for other markets, and right now, everyone has
SEEN Palms, but many haven't had a real need or desire to own one. This
rumored new line would possibly crack that market.

Frankly, I'm personally happier about the rumored (and this had BETTER not
be a rumor) increase of memory in the Palm VII, but hey, that's just boring
geekspeak anyway. ;)

However, if this Palm REALLY wanted to sell, they should either:
1. Ship them with modem cards or
2. Give them access to Palm.net.

The kids don't care about a handheld organizer, really...but they do love
to surf. As for that other stuff, let the vendors or VAR's deal with it...
Palm doesn't need to be taking individual requests to stamp some company's
name on the case, and it provides more business opportunities for the rest
of us if Palm weren't to deal with it.
