The paid-for VC++ native isn't much better. Hiding things in dozens
of menus and dialog boxes is a way of taking something complex and
making it intractible.
(I must admit Metrowerks has been quirky but quite stable in all the
variants I have used, but I still wish it had a makefile mode).
