The definition is not a Palm technical term but linguistic. Here is the definition
that I find most relevant.
glyph (glf)
n. A symbol that imparts information in a nonverbal manner.
In the case of the Graffiti engine, a glyph is defined an array of two dimensional
vectors that is matched up against movements
recorded within the digitizing engine.
