Kindly check out the 'Numbers' format in the preferences. The
settings of the 'Numbers' format is doing all this magic :-).

Subject: decimal point on numeric fields
We just discovered that on some Pilots, decimal point is not allowed
in
numerical fields... I most cases I can write 5.5 on my Visor, but Palm IIIx
seems to not allow decimal point in this field. Why? Is this a bug, or a
feature?
