I should have elaborated.  As you correctly point out, your app will be
wiped unless you've stored it in the flash area.  This can be accomplished
by using either FlashPro, or ImagePro.  Once you've done this, my earlier
comments are valid.  You'll be able to detect a hard reset, and schedule
an alarm that triggers a UI app switch to your application.
