FIRST A SPECIFIC QUESTION
i am using the palmOS emulator 3.0a7 with the 3.5en-ezdbg.rom rom file, and
i am emulating a palm V with 2 meg of memory. I would think i should be
emulating a palm VII to do inet stuff, but the emulator only supports IIIx,
V, and Vx. (note: my target device is an omnisky enabled palm V)
my problem is that when i try to locate the inet library like this...
foundlib = SysLibFind("INet.lib", &libref);
i cannot find it. i have included both netlib.lib and inet.lib in my
project, but this doesn't seem to help.
what do i need to do to get the above function to return the reference
number of inet.lib?
NOW A GENERAL QUESTION
at the start of the chapter about the net library, the palmOS companion
warns...
"IMPORTANT: Applications cannot directly use the net library to
make wireless connections. Use the Internet library for wireless
connections."
then at the start of the chapter about the inet library, it warns...
"WARNING! In future OS versions, Palm, Inc. does not intend to
support or provide backward compatibility for the Internet library
API."
this is very confusing to me. any general information about which library
should be used for what task (and why) whould be much appreciated.
thank you for your patience
